In 2020, Dior entrusted us to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the legendary "Rouge Dior" through a fast-paced, highly-edited format designed for social media. Penned by fashion documentarian Olivier Nicklaus, the project takes the form of a hybrid mini-documentary, blending the richness of the House's historical archives with studio-shot vignettes.
How do you tell 60 years of authoritative history without falling into classicism or the brand's usual institutional tone? Operating outside the strict framework of a traditional launch campaign, we had the freedom to shift the House's Tone of Voice. The goal was to bring a fun, lighthearted, and resolutely playful breath of fresh air to the Dior heritage.
We handled the art direction and the directing of all the studio vignettes. The guiding idea was to treat these historical artifacts, including the very first glass tube inspired by the Concorde obelisk, with a pop and ultra-graphic visual grammar.
Each vignette was designed as a stylized nod to the different eras and the visions of the iconic creative directors who succeeded one another: from Christian Dior's New Look revolution, to the provocative exuberance of the 80s signed by Tyen, up to the contemporary empowerment of Peter Philips. By playing with saturated color blocks, playful sound design, and razor-sharp editing, we created a visual showcase capable of bridging the gap between the historical archive and premium snack content.
